Acupressure – is it Effective for Treating Neck and Back Pain?
Acupressure is quite simply acupuncture without the needles. It is not surprising then that acupressure follows the same systems and protocols as acupuncture. It follows that acupressure is no more and no less effective than traditional acupuncture. There are numerous research studies that have validated acupuncture as an effective form of treatment for soft tissue complaints.
In a chronic pain situation, where you have had all the conventional therapies, such as chiropractic, massage and physiotherapy, and you still have significant pain, you may want to ask your doctor for a note to have a trial of acupressure. This is especially true if you are deathly afraid of needles, like most of us.
